Today we have part 2 in my series of posts about how you can use curtain rod connectors to enhance your basic curtain rod. We’re going to create our own custom corner curtain rods, this time using just one connector and one support!

Installing your own picture frame molding is not nearly as difficult as it looks. It’s one of those projects that with a bit of practice, you can quickly work your way through it, and it packs a big punch in a room…a win / win for any DIYer!

Moving (hopefully one last time) was always a possibility for us, but it had to be the perfect scenario: a little more house, in the same school district, in a neighborhood just as friendly as the one we would be leaving.

• A little more house because let’s be honest, going in and out of lockdown the last 18 months has everyone wanting a little more space, right?

• In the same school district because my kids love it here, but honestly…I love my town even more than they do. I can’t imagine calling any other place home.

I sew almost every day, and yet I don’t have a single self-sewn piece in my wardrobe right now.

How can this be?

It took me awhile to perfect my technique for making a frame with mitered corners.

It wasn’t the frame itself that I struggled with, but really what was the best way to attach it to my sign.

I like painting signs like these on 1/4″ plywood. The thicker stuff is heavier, and I don’t like the weight it gives my finished pieces (plus it’s not usually as smooth of a surface to paint on!)…but you can’t really nail a frame to 1/4″ ply.

This year marks the fourth Summer Sampler quilt-along that Katie, Faith, and I have created (well, make that the fifth, if you count the original Summer Sampler way back in 2011). After spending the summer making all these gorgeous weekly sampler blocks, actually putting them together and finishing the quilt always feels like a HUGE accomplishment. Even for us—the organizers/designers—it feels huge! So for all of you out there who are still working on this ...

Yes, fall is officially here—because it’s a wrap on Summer Sampler 2019: Piecing Bootcamp! Ahhhhhh, you guys! I can’t believe the last block dropped this morning!

(Of course, it’s not completely done, because we still have to sew all these bad boys together into a top. And quilt it. So, just a few things left to do, really. It’ll take us just one hot minute, right? LOL. Stay tuned for all of that!)
